Spinal manipulative therapy (SMT).

SMT is where your chiropractor applies a specific impulse or thrust to a joint, this technique is responsible for the audible “click” or “pop”. The aim of SMT is to reinstate normal joint function and movement, relieve pressure on joints, reduce inflammation and to relieve pain.

In some cases, where SMT is not deemed suitable for the individual patient your chiropractor may utilise joint mobilisation therapy, this involves gentle oscillatory movement, less forceful thrusts and stretching. The aim of spinal mobilisation is to increase range of motion by reducing joint stiffness, relieve pressure on joints, reduce inflammation and relieve pain.

Exercise and rehabilitation.

At Bodycare Chiropractic we will not just treat the symptoms, but also discover the root cause of your condition and give you bespoke corrective exercises to prevent the risk of re-injury.

The aim of the exercise rehabilitation programme is to strengthen the injured area and aid in reducing the frequency of issues re-occuring.

Dry needling.

This technique involves inserting several fine needles into areas of the muscle, it is used for treatment of pain and movement impairments.

The aim of dry needling is to stimulate muscles that are irritable and ease muscular pain. Resulting in improved flexibility of the muscle and increased range of motion of the treated segment.

Kinesiology/Sports taping.

Kinesiology tape is made from a blend of cotton and nylon. It is designed to mimic the skin’s elasticity so you can use your full range of motion. The tape’s adhesive is also water-resistant.

The aim of kinesiology taping is to improve posture and provide muscle support so that weak muscles can function efficiently, reducing pain and fatigue, and protect against cramping, over-extension and over-contraction. Kinesiology tape also improves blood flow, allowing the injury to heal quicker.

Instrument assisted soft tissue mobilisation (IASTM).

During IASTM your chiropractor will use specially designed instruments to provide treatment to areas of muscular pain, it is a form of soft tissue treatment.

The aim of IASTM is to facilitate healing through stimulating a local inflammatory response, which is your body’s healing mechanism.

What Our Patients Are Saying…

Jana was by far the best clinician I have had for treatment.

Her friendly personality helps put patients at ease. She cares about the wellbeing of her patients.

I just wish she worked closer to Wales.

I saw Josh for a couple of months for various problems that I let build up over time,

and he is great. He is very knowledgeable about all areas of the body and all different conditions,

and has taught me a lot. He has really helped me, and with his treatments and exercises,

I saw myself getting better and stronger.
